Firstly, the cutting method with an annular cutter involves cutting the material at the edge of the hole, whereas a twist drill must cut the full diameter of the hole. Secondly, thanks to two sharp angles on each cutting edge, it is possible to achieve higher feed rates and lower milling resistance.
